Visit us!

You would be more than welcome to visit us any Sunday. For a first visit we suggest the 10.30am service, especially if you are perhaps considering the Christian faith for the first time. The message from the pulpit is perfectly suitable for older children and teenagers. (We fully support families who wish to keep all ages in the service and do not insist that children leave the room!) We currently do not have a regular Sunday School but are seeking to resume this work.

2014-02-19 17.10.02We have facilities and access for the disabled, and a loop system for the hard of hearing. There is also a warm room with relay facilities for parents with babies or toddlers.

You will meet a range of friendly people from around the Thornbury area of different ages and backgrounds.

We believe that God is awesome and wonderful. We reflect that in reverent public worship, which means that we keep things very straightforward. The Pastor or a visiting preacher will lead the service, pray, read the Bible, and preach a message from the Bible. We will sing hymns, written by men and women both in the past and the present, and we also sing Psalms – which are from the Bible. Our singing is usually accompanied by the organ or the piano. We use the original ‘Christian Hymns’ hymnbook, published by the Evangelical Movement of Wales, and our own hymnbook, ‘Morton Praise!’, which adds a number of psalms and hymns both old and new to our singing.

Don’t be put off by our ‘traditional’ format. You’ll find a warm welcome at Morton, and indeed, if you stay for a chat after the morning service, or refreshments after the evening service, you will find yourself in relaxed and friendly company!

Here are a couple of maps of our location. We look forward to meeting you!
